Hosted at the University of South Carolina Alumni Center, this event will begin with a talent showcase featuring students from across the state and continue with a spirit-filled march to the State Capitol Building.

Join us at Clemson University on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 am for the Biology: DNA Fingerprinting and Crime Scene lab!

In this lab, students will: Explore DNA’s structure, role, and relationship to proteins. Set up a restriction digest of DNA from a “crime scene.” Compare suspect DNA to crime scene DNA by performing gel electrophoresis. Explore how genetic signatures are used in forensics and other applications.
